patapos na ang buwan... ramdam ko pa rin ang epekto ng hindi pagbabayad sa akin nung kumpanyang pinanggalingan ko, pinagsilbihan ng halos anim na taon at basta na lang ako iniwan sa ere pagkatapos kong maghintay ng oportunidad ng pagsulong sa loob nang mahigit dalawang taon. at nang dumating na nga ang pagkakataong dapat na akong magdesisyon, hindi man lang halos matanggap ang pag-alis ko kaya marahil bokya ang naiuwi ko mula roon. anyhoo... sayang naman ang nasimulan kong "2011 positivity" kung magmumukmok lang ako eh sa pagmumukmok ko, hindi naman madadagdagan magkakaroon ng laman ang pitaka ko.

mabuti na lang, happy happy joy joy ang dinadatnan ko lagi sa bahay... at kung lalabas man kami para mag family day/bonding, kahit walang pera, ayos na ayos na!



magbi-birthday na si wifey sa Wednesday. at dahil sa-id ang bank account(s) namin, simple lang ang regalo ko sa kaniya:

1. (isang bagay na ayaw niyang ipasabi in public)
2. isang damit pantulog
3. isang __________ (sikreto pa ito.. sana di muna sya magbasa ng blog ko)
4. at ang aking sarili nang buong-buo.

...yun lang. pagkatapos ng birthday niya, ilang mga araw lang, si little girl naman ang magbi-birthday. sa gulang na dalawa, marami-rami na syang alam gawin. minsan ikinagugulat namin. syempre ayokong masyadong maging hambog sa mga nalalaman na ng anak ko dahil baka sabihin eh masyadong self-serving dahil nga naman magulang ako. isa lang ang masasabi ko... i'm surely a proud dad! eto ang ilan sa latest pics nya... hindi ko mai-post yung first pedal nya sa bike at yung pagsabay nya sa kanta ng Hi-5 kase malaki raw ang file kaya file upload unsucessful... eto na lang muna:

Randy "Macho Man" Savage 1952-2011

Hulk Hogan was the most favorite the time i started watching the World Wrestling Federation (now known as the World Wrestling Entertainment). But unlike the many who then idolized Hogan, i was more impressed with a much exciting wrestler... an athlete who literally "flies" in the ring, more fast moving than the hulk, and had more impressing stunts than the crowds favorite. I'm talking about the "Macho Man" Randy Savage.

 

i just learned that my favorite professional wrestler died in a vehicular accident. It's a sad news to the wrestling industry and to his fans.

i had a blog entry about the Macho Man (and the glory days of wrestling) here. i just wanted to post this as i pay my tribute to the wrestler who thrilled many wrestling fans during the height of world wrestling (federation) entertainment.

and this one match was one of the highlights of his career, against Andre the Giant, as he tries to defend his championship belt. but yeah, the match didn't finish as Jake Roberts interfered during the match. classic wrestling script it was...

2nd coming in Bataan

i had to work my arse off during my actual birthday so i made it up with my two girls during the weekend by booking us in Montemar Beach Club in Bagac, Bataan. It was my 2nd time in the place, my first was during our company outing last year.

we were with my daughter's lolo daddy and seeing them enjoy the overnight stay has made me happy and feel contented. it was my wifey's first time in Montemar, and my little girl's first time in the beach & beach sand! most of the time i just took photos of them and i wasn't able to do kayaking which i earlier planned, but it's ok. the sight of seeing our little girl enjoy the beach, as well as the pool is already priceless.

before we drove back to Manila, we side-tripped to Dambana ng Kagitingan and unlike the first time i went there, this time we've gone to the top! at least i also had one "first time" during our trip. :D

Leading God’s Nation: Understanding Divine Authority

Ordinarily, organizations on earth, from small associations to the larger ones such as business corporations and governments or states, are formed by people who have common interests and are motivated by a common cause or goal. It is thus that the power and authority to govern emanate from the people themselves, who also formulate the implementing guidelines or rules and regulations that are supposed to be followed.

This is not so with the Church of Christ, God's nation in these last days. The members of this Church believe that this organization came to exist according to God's will as proven by the many prophecies in the Bible that have been fulfilled in it (lots of articles here in the Pasugo: God's Message have already discussed the subject), and is therefore different from any other organizations on earth which are established by men only.

Church of Christ members today also believe that the one is in-charge of, or is administering, the Church's affairs is appointed by God, just like the apostle Paul, who was sent to minister the Church in the Gentile world, who said, "I have become its minister, according to God's administration that was given to me for you, to make God's message fully known" (Col. 1:25, Holman Christian Standard Bible). It is thus that members of the Church of Christ in these last days regard the Church Administration worthy of their esteem, recognition, and profound respect. These they do, not out of blind obedience but, out of their understanding of the primary reason for which the Church that is of Christ and of God is being administered.

A reciprocal obligation

However, leading the Church of Christ is not a one-sided affair. The leaders of God's nation in these last days are expected to let those who are under their stewardship see or realize their reciprocal obligations and responsibilities. The learned Apostle Paul wrote his timeless admonition to the Christians, thus:

"Let us therefore make every effort to do what leads to peace and to mutual edification." (Rom. 14:19, New International Version)

We could glean from the verse that Apostle Paul had his concern focused on strengthening the Church or he would not have rallied the Christians to make every effort to do the things that lead to peace and mutual edification. This, too, is the desire of the Church Administration in these last days.

Not only in the presence of the Church Administration

Time and again, today, the Administration in the Church of Christ in these last days issues pastoral letters, circulars, and other directives for implementation among the brethren. Written instructions carry as much weight as oral discourses. During the time of the apostles, Christians' noncompliance to the apostles' letters was dealt with accordingly. Apostle Paul specifically enjoined the brethren to take note and have nothing to do with violators, for them to be ashamed. How important is obedience to the spiritual life of Christians?
Apostle Paul stated:

"Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling." (Phil. 2:12, New King James Version)

A deep understanding, therefore, of the divine right and authority of those whom God has entrusted to care for the Church draws the members of the Church of Christ in these last days to obey, respect and love the Church Administration.

Will be done by the Father in heaven

But why is complete obedience required? Under what authority? This was clearly explained by no less than our Lord Jesus Christ Himself who entrusted the first-century Church to apostles before He ascended to heaven, thus:

"Assuredly, I say to you, whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loosed on earth will be loosed in heaven. Again I say to you that if two of you agree on earth concerning anything that they ask, it will be done for them by My Father in heaven." (Matt. 18:18-19, Ibid.)

This was rendered in the Today's English Version of the Bible, thus:

"And so I tell all of you: what you prohibit on earth will be prohibited in heaven, and what you permit on earth will be permitted in heaven. And I tell you more: whenever two of you on earth agree about anything you pray for, it will be done for you by my Father in heaven." (Matt. 18:18-19)

The pronouncement of our Lord Jesus Christ simply shows that God sanctions the decisions done by the Administration whom He placed in the Church.

And such authority extends even to the expulsion from the Church of evil or wicked members, thus:

"God will judge those outside. 'Expel the wicked man from among you'." (I Cor. 5:13, NIV)

A continuing concern for the Church

However, tasked with a divine mandate and motivated by love, the Administration of the Church of Christ in these last days, in the person of the Church's Executive Minister in every dispensation, just like Apostle Paul during his time, continues to urge the brethren, thus:

"I urge you, then, to make me completely happy by having the same thoughts, sharing the same love, and being one in soul and mind. Don't do anything from selfish ambition or from a cheap desire to boast, but be humble toward one another, always considering others better than yourselves. ... Do everything without complaining or arguing, so that you may be innocent and pure as God's perfect children, who live in a world of corrupt and sinful people. You must shine among them like stars lighting up the sky, as you offer them the message of life. If you do so, I shall have reason to be proud of you on the Day of Christ, because it will show that all my effort and work have not been wasted." (Philip. 2:2-3, 14-16, TEV)

Such is the greatness of God's purpose in appointing someone to minister to the needs of the Church, at all times. God places an Administration in the Church to edify the faith of the members, for them to be able to render a perfect kind of service to God, so on the Second Coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, they shall be worthy of attaining the promised salvation and eternal life.

matagal na akong namaalam sa Friendster bago pa man ito mag-anunsiyo ng pagtatanggal ng user data hanggang May 31, 2011.

ang friendster ang nagmulat sa maraming pinoy sa mundo ng social networking. hindi ito natinag ng iba pang nagsulputang social networking sites. katunayan, napabalita pa nga noon na ang number one users ng Friendster ay mga Pilipino.... hanggang sa pagdating ng Facebook.

marami rin ang mga ala-ala ng lumang friendster. "pahingi ng testi." ang karaniwang bukambibig ng mga pinoy kapag nakikipag-usap sa mga kaibigan nila, online man o sa real world. paramihan ng testi.

pero tinabangan ako sa friendster at pinilit kabisaduhin ang noo'y kumplikadong facebook (andami kaseng applications, real-time updates pa). ang friendster kase, naging "makalat". naging "magulo". at naging masakit sa mata. isa pa, wala nang bago. kung may pagbabago man, sa tingin ko eh hindi sya improvement. ayun. ang simple at payak kong friendster profile, nagwakas ang buhay isang araw nang taong 2009:

MAY-time

I'm turning 35 but i don't look that old and it doesn't feel that bad. really. May is my month. I don't know but May seems to be the next best month after December. May is the peak of summer in Manila and weather abnormality says that it's also the beginning of the other season--- the rainy season. last minute vacations happen in May especially for students. Beaches become full, cool places like Tagaytay & Baguio become congested with tourists and bookstores are flocked by school shoppers.

Birthdays make you contemplate on how long you've gone in life. I feel blessed. My friends make me feel i am blessed. My family is my blessing. I have my spiritual treasures. My faith is above everything.

But everything can not be perfect. No. Nothing is perfect in this world. I wish for more income. Not only to pay our monthly bills but also to have more money to help the needy. I'm not a charity person. But i give to those who deserve help. I also want to give more to my better half. She takes care of our household and she attends to me and our little girl selflessly. Small things mean a lot to her and I can't even give her those "wants" due to financial priority. I'm maintaining her list, though. When bounty times come, i'm sure to mark that list and cross them out one by one. For the meantime, I'm still looking for a 2nd job that will complement my prime bread & butter.

Speaking of happy times, my dear wifey saved some money to buy me this (advanced) birthday gift:



She's been telling me to change my mobile phone which is already more or less four years old. My Nokia 6233 was a fruit of my own labor few years back. I have changed it's original battery and also changed its back housing. But that's it. It's still a good use. But now that i have my new Nokia C3, I can now retire my old phone. Thanks, wifey! ;)

On another note, this is my 2nd time to take a leave at work. Choir practice is scheduled tonight for the special worship service on Saturday. I always feel good performing my duty. :)

BUHAY AT TRABAHO

Hay naku! Lunes na naman... Trabaho na naman...

We usually hear these lines on Sunday evenings to early mornings
of Mondays from people who had been working Mondays to Fridays or
sometimes including Saturdays (and Sundays?). Do they sound bored?
Or just plain tinatamad? O kaya, bitin lang sa weekend? Well, I
don't know! I think all of the above.

So few are so lucky to be very excited for Mondays to come and
its time for them to report for work again. So seldom that an
employee is excited to face, again, the backlogs, the row of
deadlines and the quota to meet. Eh, bakit pa sila nagwork?
Eh, wala eh.. Kailangan.

Kailangan? It seems that working is the destiny of most of us if
not all of us... Para bang nabuhay tayo dito sa mundo para lang
magtrabaho...

Ganyan ba talaga??? Ewan ko. sometimes I heard myself asking
"do I live to work or do I work to live?" Sagot ng marami,
they work daw to live... Eh bakit parang ang mga buhay ng
karamihan just revolved around their work. Gising ng madaling
araw, ligo, bihis, nagmamadali para di matrapik, di na nakakain,
sa office nalang ako kakain dear, mga anak? Bahala na si Yaya
dyan. anak kiss daddy, kiss mommy. bye baby, Dad has to work...

8:00 to 5:00 working... Minsan hanggang 9:00 or 10:00 ng evening.
tapos uwian na. pagdating ng bahay. tulog na ang mga anak. katabi
ang Yaya. wala ng magawa dahil sa pagod, tutulog ka na rin. The
following morning, ganoon ulit ang routine. kailan matatapos 'to???

Who knows!!! Sa retirement siguro...

At 65? Sigurado ka??? Akala ko ba you work to live? Are you sure
you are having a life???

Work, probably yes, but again, Are you having a life???

Yung isang kaibigan kong mag-asawa working in Manila almost had
an identical routine sa nakasulat sa taas. One day, actually a
Sunday, the couple was preparing to have their lunch at the famous
Jollibee as requested by their elder daughter. The couple usually
tries to maximize the time with their two kids, making up for the
lost time they are supposed to spend from Monday to Saturday.
Ngunit bago sila makaalis, kumulimlim na... parang uulan... so
nag-isip ang daddy... bago siya makapag-isip, bigla nalang bumuhos
ang malakas na ulan... cancelled ngayon ang most awaited trip to
Jollibee ng mga bata... dahil nga umulan walang magawa...
Maya-mayang konti, biglang kumidlat at kumulog na halos sabay at
napakalakas... Nagulat ngayon si daughter... Napatakbo... sa takot,
umiyak, tumakbo at yumakap sa Yaya...

Yaya, Yaya takot ako, lakas kidlat...

Pinatahan ng Yaya dahil trabaho nya yun eh... Tumahan naman si
daughter, after awhile, tulog na...

(i-imagine mo lang na may camera and the camera is panning towards
the mommy from the dauter and yaya, mommy now in focus. slowly
zooming in...)

Dahan-dahan mong makikita ang nangingilid na mga butil ng luha sa
mga mata ng mommy. habang siya'y nakatingin kay yaya and daughter,
few seconds later. tears started to run down her cheeks... She
looked so sad and so frustrated..

Bakit???? Dahil di natuloy ang Jollibee?

Adik!! Hindi noh!!!

Eh Bakit nga???

Kasi, natakot sa kidlat at kulog...

Tange!!! Ayan, tange ka tuloy...

After almost a month, I got a call... Pare, birthday celebration
ni daughter sa Linggo. sa Jollibee. Three years old na inaanak mo...
punta ka kasi despedida na rin namin...

Bakit? Saan kayo pupunta?

Uuwi na kami sa province.

Ano??? Bakasyon? Bakit kailangang may despedida?

Hinde, pare, for good na.

For good???

Oo, alangan namang for bad. biro ng daddy...

Tawanan kami...

The couple decided to give up the careers they have started to
build here in Manila. They decided not to take the challenges
and the millions of opportunities here in the city. At the very
early stage of their married lives, they decided on their priorities.
They decided to have a life. A family life. A decision that cost
them the new promotion of the father in a bank and the chances of
the mother to become a bank officer after her Officers' Training
Program where she had been consistently performing above the rest.


Was it the wisest decision the couple has ever made? Well, our
answers may not be the same. it will all depend on our way of
looking at things.

Katulad ng maraming bagay, disisyon lang yan. buhay o trabaho... ;)
