it's been a long time since i last enjoyed solitude at home and looking back to my blogging hobby, it's when i'm in this state that i am encouraged to "speak to myself".
blogging has gone a long way. for the primary thought of just-talking-to-myself and simply having my past "stories" documented, i have started publishing some note-worthy stories of my life online. from then on i enjoyed blogging. i learned some basic html and eventually, it became my outlet of stress and life's rantings. having an "audience" never came as a priority into my mind and i even thought many times about opening up this personal blog to public. but since communication is one thing i learned to value in life, i began to welcome comments from my readers. for sure, this blog should be useful for my long-lost friends who're constantly asking how am i doing. since there are so many missed times and many years of catching up to tell, it'd be handy for me to just share my blog's link for them to catch up with what's going on with me since i started this in 2003.
it's been four long years. browsing back at my past entries, my life has been on a roller coaster ride. sometimes i am wondering about the "what ifs" that i can insert on some times of my life. it's pretty amazing to see how i've gone through all the ups and downs, and realizing that i have my friends--- real friends who are "walking with me through the journey" simply makes life even more worth living.
life. it has to be lived everyday. whether a person is at his best or worst, life must go on. we can only learn from the mistakes of our past, and hope to shape a good future for ourselves. some things that blogs accomplish: it helps out in shaping the track on where you are heading to; it opens up great communication with people who cares about you; it gives your detractors a chance to rethink about how he/she misjudges you; it brings back good old memories to be treasured forever.
i always think i am a very private person, and it doesn't change up to now. while i try to open up with people whom i trust very well, i don't mind sharing a bit of my life with friendly strangers who are so interested in "reading" my blog. maybe we have something in common. maybe you see yourself in me. or maybe you simply admire how i candidly write my life, turn my problems and rantings into an amusing presentation or maybe you simply love to read about some people's thoughts. my blog--- it's been a part of my life. my past is here, my present is here, and hopefully, here, my future will also be.
to all the people i've been missing, and to all the people who are missing me, thanks to technology we are just a few clicks away from each other. where are all of you since we've parted? i'm here trying to reach out. i have changed a lot, but i remain the same person whom you have known before. this is my blog. this is my life. and as you were once who lived life with me, i welcome you back to my world, my life...

18 minutes and i'm outta here!
it's been a busy day for me today and i've tried hard to at least get done with my two sets of store breakdown report for Watsons. Downloading their store details really eats up time and the intermittent connection of our PLDT DSL adds up to the delay in the process. sheesh. talk about speedy internet service.
anyway, ayah's not feeling well today (first day of the monthly girl thing) and i'm feeling sorry for her. makes you think how brave the ladies are in facing that cycle every month, plus the mood-swings really hit them hard. well, i regularly become her "shock absorber" so i really need to be patient during those times. good thing i'm a guy. i don't have to suffer that monthly period and i can't imagine changing napkins every i-don't-know-when.
aarrghh... i wanna go home and curl up in the couch. it's getting to be rainy these past few days and it's nice to do one of my favorite hobbies--- sleeping! our office air condition unit gives out cold air at 24 degrees centigrade! wow. i can start wearing my long sleeves polo again in the next few weeks. hmm... woah, speaking of rainy days and cool weather, i am now recalling the Old Navy gray sweat shirt which i had (and used to be my favorite when i was in Mississauga). I actually remember bringing it with me when i came back here in Manila and suddenly, when our thief helper left us some time in 2005, she brought it with her. grrr...
i have to pack-up. i'm hungry.
P.S. i won a dvd from a promo in PinoyExchange.com and i still don't know when i could drop by Ayala to pick it up. howell...

After Elections
and i thought i wouldn't write anything in relation to the recently-held Philippine elect-cheats, i mean, elections. oh well, since everybody is getting a clearer view of who's gonna make it and who's NOT gonna make it to the 12 senatorial seats, and while most local officials have been proclaimed in their respective municipalities, let me share to you a very funny (yet still corny) forwarded text joke:
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~
SOTTO: Nabulaga!
CHAVIT: Sumabit!
PACQUIAO: Knocked-out!
ZUBIRI: Na-boom-tarat-tarat!
MONTANO: Na-Out of SHINE!
GOMA: Na-flat!
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~
hay naku... back to work na nga muna! bwiset.

K-6th Street, KAMUNING, Quezon City: Unforgettable Place
The following entry has been posted
in my PexPlus Private Thread entitled
Jons' ^ HoLY SaNCTuaRY ^
date: May 17, 2002
----------------------------------
The place where i grew up. We were living as an extended family--- 3 families in one roof.

reason behind the ranting
a busy day in the office such as this and a person getting on your nerve simply makes the bad day worse. anyway, after counting 10,000 sheep and getting my deadlines done, i now can relate why there's such a rant in my preceding entry. here's the story:
Roger* (*not his real name), our maintenance boy (he looks like a high school student) was told by yours truly to deliver an important report to our principal in Ortigas within the day. As i await the time of his dispatch (since our accounting department was preparing checks for delivery to our principal also) i keep on reminding him about the report he's going to take with him there. he kept on responding "ok". after lunch, i told one of our accounting colleague to dispatch Roger already as our principal still needs to upload the sub-distributors report which Roger was to deliver to them. in short, the accounting department prepared all the necessary accounting documents to be handed to Roger. right then, i had to attend to our van salesman in the stockroom. upon returning to the office, Roger was gone. my blood rose to the heavens when i saw the reports still bundled up on my table. Roger left them! GRRR!!! my colleagues attested that they reminded him to report to me prior to his leaving but nonetheless, he left without remembering that he still needed to check on other things to bring to our principal. knowing that we don't have any other messengers, i was really furious since the other person from our principal kept on following-up about the said reports. and i still have to finish my deadlines so i can not go there myself to deliver the reports! GRRR!!!
i called the person from the other office and instructed them to tell Roger to come back to our office and then return there for the important documents that he left. i know it was mean to do that to him but it's a way for him to learn. most of the time, he doesn't listen to the instructions. if he ever did, he doesn't do everything he's asked of.
~ ~ ~
to make up for this unfunny incident, i am now forced to post his boo-boos which can fall in the category of this PinoyExchange thread:
# 1 boo-boo: All of us in the office craved for some Go Nuts Donuts and since we're lucky enough to have an outlet nearby our office, we asked Roger to buy us two dozens. first, we were all contesting if we should have it delivered instead but decided in the end to just have Roger buy it for us since it is just located inside Eastwood City.
an hour passed and we were all joking that Roger might have gone lost. next thing we knew, one of the office phone rang:
guy on the phone: good afternoon, pwede po kay jun?
me: (silence for a few seconds... then covered the mouthpiece and couldn't help laughing) ay naku sir, pasensya na po. sa GO NUTS DONUT namin pinapabili ng donut yan..
guy: (laughed)
(laughing on the other line)
-------
# 2 boo-boo: three of my officemates asked Roger to buy them Jolly Hotdog, Regular Yum and Fries. Roger was standing beside them when they were choosing from the Jollibee Delivery Menu and pointed on the menu flyer the orders they were asking him to buy. many minutes passed after he left, he was bringing a chicken barbecue burger and a regular crispy fries from KFC. Then speaking to my two other officemates, he said: "Walang Jolly Hotdog eh." the two obviously burst into laughter (i know its mean but who wouldn't) and told Roger why he didn't find Jolly Hotdog in KFC.
-------
# 3 boo-boo: (this really knocked me out) Ate Chona, coming from a long trip from her residence in Cavite to the office has asked Roger to buy her a breakfast meal upon arrival in the office. this time she made sure what meal he would order and made sure that he goes to Jollibee. ok. a few minutes after, he's back. he went straight to the pantry and gave Ate Chona her change in her desk. Ate Chona then asked: "Ok na ba yung breakfast meal ko?" Roger replied, "nandun na sa pantry"
i was timely making my coffee in the pantry when Ate Chona began looking for her hot chocolate. guess where Roger put it? IN THE REFRIGERATOR! buwahahahahahahahahaha!!!
sorry. this is the end of my day's ranting. happy weekend everyone!

seriously, what do you think of...
> security guards checking cars before entering the parking area using those mirrors under the vehicle?
> politicians doing everything (read: EVERYTHING even to the extent of killing) just to achieve a position in the government?
> pedestrians crossing the streets exactly below or just a few meters away from a pedestrian overpass?
> jeepney drivers loading passengers on a NO LOADING AND UNLOADING zone?
> lovers having Public Display of Affection (read: necking & petting in malls, open park, side streets.. etc.)?
> students asking an allowance for a "school project" but in reality uses the money in playing online games for almost half the day?
> victor wood vying a seat in the senate?
> people riding an elevator going up when they are supposed to go down?
> people taking home so much freebies even if they don't need them?
> and in relation to the above, what do you think of people grabbing too much Starbucks sugar and creamer sachets into their pockets?

The Dangerous Bridge
i couldn't have admired more the construction and opening of the Diosdado Macapagal Bridge which is situated along Marikina River, connecting Marcos Highway, and Marikina to C5 where you can easily access Cubao and Bagumbayan, and vice versa. When it has become accessible a few weeks back, our travel going to Bagumbayan has become a breeze whenever the Manggahan/Magsaysay St. is filled with vehicles going to Pasig.
The newly-opened bridge should be well-lit at night as it displays a good number of light posts all throughout its stretch. Generally, lighting the way should provide safety for the passing motorists but observing how these light posts were erected on the bridge might give the motorists something to worry about especially on typhoon season. one can even think if these were properly designed by the city's finest engineers... look closely where the base of the light posts stand:
clever? naahh... i don't think so.

'Iglesia Vote'
wow. i received a text message forwarding the supposed INC Senatorial Line-up. the forwarder confirmed that it has already been broadcasted on TV/radio. The media is way faster than our church administrator on this thing. it is them who's making so much of a BIG deal out of this and it's not very amusing.
why is our vote so freakin' important for them to know anyway? can't people just mind their own businesses?
geez..

a new experience
as i write this entry, i'm feeling the pain. pain of my sun-burnt skin. and i am badly needing a body massage. :P May 6th & 7th marked our very first company outing since we launched in May 2005. credit goes to kapusong Chona for lobbying our "desires
& demands" with our GM. together with Choi they have become our organizers and all things were made possible (parang Globe). Tintin scouted for places where we can go to, but we ended up with Ms Jens choice (or is it hers?) and booked us at Punta Fuego for the said dates. The place can only boast of its houses (for rent) and a beach more designed for jetski and banana boating. It had 1 adult pool and 1 kiddie pool situated nicely before the beach view. The place is ideal for family gatherings or company outings where the group can design other activities for the whole duration of your stay, aside from the usual swimming-all-througout "vacation".
Over-all, our outing was enjoyable. Kid was talented enough to provide us the "orchestration" in subtitute for a videoke machine. so every after meal, Bhea & i would ask Kid to play for us while we sing every song that pops out from our mind. Kid uses an electric keyboard and we also had a guitar to complement it. Occasionally, Ate Chona & Shareena would join us, and even our main chef, CJ would hum the tune with us. we were so fond of singing. aside from swimming, we also played beach volleyball. CJ, Shareena & i lost to James, Kid & Bhea. we played until the ball became invisible due to the sun's setting. while (almost) everyone had their first taste of riding the jetski that our GM has brought with us for the outing, the next day was yet another looking-forward to day. the second day can be considered as the last moment for all activities so everything became important under the sun (parang Sun Cellular). early did ate Chona, Kid, James & i take a dip at the beach and i enjoyed using the goggles to spot some small shells just a few meters away from the shore. oh, yes, and it's the first time i'm telling the public... i don't know how to swim. yeah, i know. i've been coping with that frustration since childhood and every summer when swimming is the most in demand activity anywhere in this tropical country. anyway, i've learned to accept reality but this time, it didn't hinder me to go my way snorkling (but without the air tube) and the feat that really shook my whole self in my first few minutes of experiencing it... riding the jetski all by myself:
there's a rather funny story behind this first time experience but it's gonna drag my post so i'm not publishing it here. :p
the next best thing that i can consider in that outing was my pork sinigang being appreciated by everyone, and i mean EVERYONE. I was tasked to cook it for our 2nd day's lunch menu as i've boasted that i know how to cook my favorite dish. "sige. ikaw nakatokang magluto para sa lunch natin." after saying my prayers for the said task, the rest was history. thanks everyone for the appreciation. it actually boosted my morale as a sinigang cook. lol. :) (Left to Right: Choi, Des, Mang Nes, Kid, Bodj, Bhea, Joe, Shareena, Tintin, Ate Chona, Jon, Ms. Jen, ELC, James & CJ)
anyway, while the event was very much relaxing and simply amazing (parang Smart Communication), i still longed to go home early as i was badly missing *someone* all throughout the outing. hmmm.. sino kaya yun?

no spiderman entry
even before the opening of this (spiderman 3) movie, i knew that it's gonna be the talk of the town. so, i'm sparing my blog from talking about it again but before i completely *dump* the subject, i'd just like to say that while spidey's adventure (and technical effects) in the most recent film was better, i feel that i still liked spiderman 2 more. must be the "revelation" thing in that 2nd part of the series. plus, parker was so "celebrity" in the recent flick. he's become as a comedian by boasting about himself and i think it's overacting. might be part of the script but still, bleh.
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~
last week, i had stomach cramp due to intake of an almost spoiled tuna belly which i ate at Something Fishy in Eastwood City, Libis. Since i'm not a seafood advocate, i wouldn't easily know which ones are fresh and which ones are inches away from being spoiled. so it was my sister's birthday (the 24th of April). my dad (surprisingly) called me and told me he's fetching us (mom, ayah & i) for dinner after our office at 6pm. ok. so i suggested we go to the nearest dining place and there's none other than eastwood city. i was supposed to suggest that we eat pasta instead but mom already had seafood in mind.
(WARNING: offensive words may be read. don't read while eating)
as we sat on the table, a small cockroach was crawling back and forth our table. ayah tried to drive it away by using the menu since it was crawling near her seat. (if they have roaches crawling in the dining area, what more can you expect in their kitchen?) i whispered to ayah. so our order arrived. it's like a platter meal where assorted seafood is available with a large amount of java rice. i didn't get my share of rice and instead just took my share of the squid, the salmon and the tuna belly. then we quietly ate our share, and afterwich called my sister to inform her that we're celebrating her birthday. her response? "oh thanks, but i'm currently driving so i can't keep long on the phone. ok, bye." wow. some gratitude. bah.
anyway, what i liked about that night is the reunion of the old couple. it seldom happens and that night should be cherished (even if i get another stomach cramp) for as long as they (and we as well) enjoy the company that we spend together even for a short span of time. <-- 24.04.2007 -->
i still was able to practice for the church choir that same night but the next day, early in the morning i was curling in pain. i thought i was food poisoned (maybe i was on the way of being food poisoned) as i threw up what i can taste as the fish i ate that previous night, after going to the washroom twice to discharge whatever is inside my hurting tummy. i wasn't able to report for work and in the afternoon, i had my stool examined. Ayah & her mom, helped me out and Ayah didn't leave me the whole day (thanks, dear).
Something Fishy is careless with what they serve. It's a well-known restaurant in Eastwood City and yet it operates like a Class E food store. cockroaches in the dining area? spoiled seafoods? what more can you ask for? oohh.. i'm sorry if someone from the management reads this. bad publicity deserves to be posted so as to warn other people who might wanna try out the same restaurant... err, food establishment. anyway, good or bad, it is still publicity. and i think i still did them a favor by providing them "publicity" in my humble blog. don't worry, Something Fishy Management, only a few people read my blog. and what happened to me last week was just passed on by word to a few relatives and friends. they sure wanna check out if the cockroach story is true so probably most of them are still willing to visit your food store. but i'm sure they don't wanna suffer cramp in their tummies so you better make up for your lousy, uncaring, money-is-all-that-matters service. and this time, please serve FRESH SEAFOOD!
- post is done -
PS. Belated happy birthday my dear Ate B! I still love you! :)

Araw Ng Mga Manggagawa
APRIL 30
ayah: may tickets na ba tayo?
jon: meron na, nagpa-reserve na ko.
ayah: saan?
jon: sa MOA.
ayah: wow, talaga?!
jon: first showing time.
~ ~ ~ ~
APRIL 30, GABI
~ ~ ~ ~
MAY 01, 7 n.u.
jon: anong dala mong damit?
ayah: wala.
jon: wala??!
...
jon: alam mo ba ang nangyari kahapon?...
...
binata: opo.
jon: ilang oras yun?
binata: wala pong time limit.
