gearing for 20-13...

less than 2 days and it's a new calendar year! i've a lot to look forward to this coming year and i'm really set to get busy: first, in church; and second, at work. of course, i need not mention dedicating my whole self to my two girls, 24/7. i just feel blessed with everything i have and for these, i thank God, my Father! ;)

- - - - - - - - - - - -

a while ago we went to auntie joy's place. it's her birthday and we used to celebrate her day with an annual family reunion especially when my mom was still here in Manila. years passed and the tradition seems to fade. it's nice to gather still though even if family members aren't complete and seeing the relatives happy being reunited once in a while is already enough to compensate those lost years.

SURPRISE! i have work tomorrow--- December 31! and yeah, to put icing on the cake, i'm working on the first day of 2013 too! isn't that great??!!!

last week, my two girls & i spent the holidays with my dad and relatives from his side. it was really, really, really nice to get back to your former 'home.' i took my two girls in downtown San Fernando and we strolled the side streets of the patio. we were actually looking for a flower shop to have it placed on my grandpa & grandma's grave. later, i met a HS classmate (and hometown mate) in a coffee shop to catch up with things. i dropped by their place after our coffee (chat) then headed back home to my two girls. everytime i visit Pampanga, i never fail to reminisce my good old teen years...

earlier, my blogger bespren (biep) called and he was already in the boarding area. so his trip is finally pushing through after long time of planning. it's just sad that he has to leave right before new year's eve and spend the new year away from his son & wifey. well, it's all for the good of his family. goodluck on your new undertakings in PNG, daddy kuri!

2013 is approaching. more surprises, more challenges ahead. let's bring it on! ;)

wazzup, Decembah?!

first post for December, hopefully not the last. some people are making the most out of this day because rumors say that tomorrow, December 21, 2012 is doomsday! i'd say, "weh, di nga? "

i missed posting last 12.12.12 or December 12, 2012. it's the last date where we can encounter a triple number in a date. these triple number-dates are quite significant for me because of a couple of reasons: 1) my blog started in March 3rd, 2003; and, 2) i got married in August 8th, 2008...

so what were your stories last January 1, 2001? February 2, 2002? April 4, 2004? May 5, 2005? June 6, 2006? July 7, 2007? September 9, 2009? October 10, 2010? November 11, 2011? and December 12, 2012?

Last weekend was a Hi-5 treat day, not only for our little girl but to us (wifey & i) as well. we do follow this group since our little girl started watching it even before she can stand on her own, three years ago. her lolo daddy bought us the discounted tickets for the Hi-5 Holiday concert and yea, we got the last row seats in the balcony. being the good father that I am, i was disheartened to see my little girl watch the show from the very far view. so, daddy made a way to bring his little girl near the admired group. i took my little girl down to the main hall, very near the stage and we just stayed in the aisle. more moms followed with their kids and soon, the kids were enjoying the 'close encounter' with the Hi-5 group. did my little girl enjoy the show?

very busy at work since last month, and it is predicted to last until next year. perhaps our team can rest just weeks before the next fiscal year. i just hope that no work will come into the way of the scheduled long weekends in 2013. speaking of which, i'm on duty on the 31st of this month AND january 1st.

does that mean that i'll be working overtime (OT-Y) for most of the coming year? nooooooo...!!!! :(

quick notes

only my 2nd update for this month, and in a not so pleasing news, this is another death post. after attending the devotional prayer last night, we (wifey & i) were greeted by a surprising SMS from my cousin: "patay na si uncle non ngayong 8pm, nasa new era gen hosp pa sya at si auntie loida." i just don't know how to react. my mom just sent them something for the month and i am about to contact them any day from now. and then this news. after getting more details, i called mom and broke the news to her. i knew she's sadden by what i've told her and three of her brothers died while she was away from the country. uncle non is the youngest among the boys, and my mom never forgets to look after him and his family. just imagine how it feels to lose a loved one, and not being there. i talked to my aunt and inquired since when were they in the hospital and she told me that they just came in there the day before. cardiac arrest was the said cause of death. it's just nice to note though that family members were immediately ready to help my widowed aunt.

------------

i'm currently struggling in terms of monetary savings the past few weeks. but my faith says "hold on." indeed, blessings come at the time you never expect. i'm happy to support wifey with her new online business. she's still in the process of starting it and we both hope it could at least complement and sustain our savings versus the monthly expenses. i just want to clarify that we're not spend-thrift and we prioritize the basic needs. need i mention that i don't get to buy new stuffs for me anymore? and we've also cut expenses already, and plan to squeeze out some other things a bit more. amazingly, i don't feel any sense of panic with this current situation, even if in a couple of years time, little Aya will also be going to school already. i've always held on to this: "Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see."

------------

after 26 years, i came back to Iloilo--- not for pleasure but for a business trip. it was nice seeing the place again, although i don't recognize any resemblance of the present Iloilo from the former. Too many changes already. It was also nice being with my colleagues Didith & Ricky who were my companions and guide in our projects there in the province. Iloilo offers a good number of great food and we didn't miss them: batchoy, seafood, and those pasalubongs that Manilenos also love. When I come back there, i still need to taste some specialty food i wasn't able to eat during my two-night stay. that would be in September!

month 2, day 1

it's Wednesday and i'm tired already. i wish it's Friday night.
my car left me today. it will be repaired (finally) and the next time i see it, i'm expecting a brand new - like blue vios! but before that, i need to get used (again) to commuting to and from work. for how many days from today, i don't know.

------------

wifey called me earlier and informed me that they rushed my father-in-law to the hospital due to high blood pressure. and the doctor insisted that he must be confined to monitor his condition. i just hope he gets well very soon. i know its not going to be easy for all of us when a family member gets bed-ridden.

------------

earlier today, i carried two heavy bags of soap--- order of my boss. after riding the bus from home, i was supposed to take the train on my way to work but realized that it will be a difficult scenario, considering that one bag weighs two gallons, so i took a cab from EDSA. i find it amusing that the cab i rode has this receipt printer. i forgot to get mine when i got off, though. my fare reached P99.50 from Ortigas to Timog (exactly how many kilometers is that distance?)

------------

i'm evaluating my career at this point. this month marks my first year as an official Kapuso talent. where the "next year" will take me... let's just see.

career, business, atbp.

ⒸⓐⓇⓔⓔⓇ

ⓐⓣⓑⓟ

bullets and thoughts

the LTFRB suspended only the bus involved in the accident of young actor AJ Perez, contrary to its proclamation earlier that all buses of PARTAS will be suspended. BUT preventive suspension may still be effected to the bus company's 47 remaining buses after holy week. plus, the bus driver involved shall undergo seminar on proper driving & drug test.

- it seems the authorities are only after the bus company. clearly, they should be doing more investigation and disciplinary measures/penalty against the vans that made the overtaking. the bus was on its right of way when the accident happened.

abs cbn van driver bautista in his affidavit defends himself saying the bus didn't allow him to pass through (the opposite lane) and that the bus didn't slow down

- so it must be the buses' fault? WTF???!!!

sen. miriam santiago (one of my idol senators) proposed bicycle-riding in the midst of the continuing oil price hike. she said people won't only save gas, it will also benefit our health.

- true. and i am for it. only, the national government or the LGU's should first make our roads bicycle-friendly. it shall be nice seeing a pollution-free environment and healthy citizens using bicycle going to and from their destinations.

taal volcano calms down, but mt. bulusan & mayon volcano act up

- mt. bulusan in sorsogon, mayon volcano in albay--- both in bicol province. take all necessary care, dear countrymen in those areas...

in lucena, quezon province, a 57-year old man wears coat and tie. he doesn't report to work in a big company's office but he sells newspapers. the man says its a part of his marketing strategy and it's successful. the city council recognized him and actually gave him a token that he may use for his work--- a brand new bicycle.

- like the dancing traffic enforcers, his attitude towards his job is what makes him a winner. and besides, there's nothing wrong in wearing coat & tie when delivering/selling newspapers around the neighborhood. been there, done that. :D

it's scorching hot outside

> iniisip ko pa rin ang LUNES. MAMAYA NA YUN.

paglalambing

new job. *teehee*

wala namang okasyon pero baket, tuwing may okasyon lamang ba pwedeng magbigay ng regalo? :D

surprises, etc...

mom is here. live from Mississauga. we fetched her last Friday and she'll be staying for a month. let's all hope for the best.

- - - - - - - - - - - -

mom brought 1 sad news. my lola in Canada is sick and is isolated in a hospital. she's diagnosed with MRSA. :(

- - - - - - - - - - - -

aya's first birthday party turned out pretty well. after months of pondering if we'll be giving her a birthday party, we finally decided to give it a go. of course with a lot of talk confrontations consultations with concerned people. i thank those who came and shared that joyous day with us, mostly families, relatives and close friends who have kids, and to those who i haven't invited but still wished our little girl the best, my sincere thanks.

- - - - - - - - - - - -

yesterday was a good ol' sunday. mom & dad were both here at home just like the good ol' times.

- - - - - - - - - - - -

lately, my little girl is showing too much affection on me. when i take the driver seat, she goes to me and hugs me like a leech. even if her mommy pulls her so i can start driving, the little girl clamps her arms to my right arm. daddy's girl much?

Random Odd Things (Personal)

random

current computer clock: 2:56pm. i'm currently pissed off. this started just a while ago, after lunch. well, not really something new during cut-off days. i seriously am considering a new job assignment.

* * * * * * *

i twitted earlier that i'm thanking God it's Friday! ...until i remembered that we need to report for work tomorrow. it's a Chinese schedule "lucky day" thing in line with our transfer to the new office. anyway, i still thank God i'm still breathing.

* * * * * * *

we just received a MEMO: "wear red tomorrow." nice...my one and only red polo shirt is in the laundry. *sigh*

* * * * * * *

my dear wifey's birthday is approaching... i still haven't got anything for her :(

* * * * * * *

it's 5:17 on my computer clock. i just faxed all the purchase orders and will now prepare to email receipt confirmation.

* * * * * * *

it's now 6pm. i still need to photocopy a lot of invoices. amazingly, i'm not pissed off anymore. i wanna go home already, though.

* * * * * * *

7:26pm... still in the office. just tallied our weekly report. Lemuelers said that it's flooded outside due to heavy rain.

* * * * * * *

got a facebook message from a familiar name from my grade school years. i texted a couple of grade school friends whom i have contact with, and ask them this: "Beejay & Ron, do we have a classmate named ___________ in UNO-R grade school? He's adding me up on facebook."
here are their replies:
Ron: "Yeah. He was the skinny kid from the states with glasses."
I replied: "Ok, thanks."

now, here's the winner of the two replies:
Beejay: "Yup. He's (insert complete name here). He Used to wear dat michael jackson thriller jacket. Hehehe"
I replied: "Really? I now recall... haha. Tnx."

LOL :D

anong latest?

hapon...

hubby & wifey date

after more than a week of getting busy with our newborn, wifey & i finally had time alone together yesterday. we're free! :p

* * *

we were back at the Cardinal Santos Medical Center (CSMC) yesterday for wifey's check-up. we need to rush because baby aya jr. misses us. those were the few hours that we felt we were boyfriend-girlfriend again.

* * *

there was a couple fighting at the CSMC. i was about to get my baby's birth certificate from the Records Section when the two came out of the room and the guy was pulling her girl with force going to the fire exit door at the end of the hallway. people from the records section went out to see the two and of course, i was halted to enter and witness (or hear) what was going on at the other end of the hallway. the guy was shouting at the girl, seems like it's all about jealousy. funny thing is, the security guard who was with them wasn't doing anything to stop the maltreatment that girl was suffering. bad.

* * *

before finally leaving the hospital premises, wifey craved for siopao asado. i got myself a tender juicy hotdog in a bun. we both didn't get any drinks.

* * *

dropped by SM Hypermarket to pay bills and do some groceries. before entering the main supermarket area, we took a stop at Go Nuts Donut to purchase an orange juice for wifey, iced coffee for me. yep. no donuts.

* * *

we didn't finish our drinks so we left it at the baggage counter. we got a Food Tag # 51 for the two cups we left. we were running out of time so we hurriedly did our rounds in the hypermarket.

* * *

after putting in 5 grocery bags in the van, we hurriedly drove home. we both miss our baby. i beat a red light crossing Ortigas-C5. a Pasig traffic policeman pulled us over. i obliged and drove slowly until i reached the shoulder. wifey acted up holding on to her tummy saying its an emergency. once again, wifey & i were actors. the policeman let us pass and apologized. yes. he apologized. then he bid us goodbye with a "take care" parting word. a few meters away, wifey and i were LOL-ing... like this -->

* * *

we felt we were thirsty again. we were looking for our drinks. we just found the #51 Food Tag in my wifey's purse. again, we were LOL-ing.

* * *

nice date. nice day. i hope to catch some moments like that again. it's being missed. in due time, it will be three of us dating. for the meantime, we have to put aside some things we enjoy in the past. time will come, the additional family member will be learning from our mischief. and we feel it coming as early as today. our daughter is very naughty. and i love it when she gives out those sharp side stares. the amateur mother and father are trying very hard to raise the baby as how we want her to be: healthy, jolly, beautiful. and later on respectful and God-fearing. thanks to the in-laws they are physically present to help out and save me from sleepless nights. i, for the meantime, am my daughter's playmate during sun bathing times, and at times during her burp-ing routine after taking her milk.
