Happy 21st!

It's our holy supper at church today. It usually is a tiring day after a week of devotional prayer and weeks of choir practices. But as always, everything is all worth the preparations. God is full of love as He always gives us an opportunity to start anew and get things straight again.

Had the chance to invite my dad to visit our home and see his grandchildren again. he stayed overnight until lunch time the following day.

My Baby Is Now An Adult

I'm not talking about my kids but this blog just turned 20 years old today. Looking back, there are a lot of memories to look back at for the past two decades. The beauty of this platform is you get to remember things that you may have forgotten had they not been written or documented through a diary, in this case, an online diary. Blogs have evolved from initially being a personal hobby or outlet where you can write what transpired in your life for the day, to being commercialized (monetized) to make it as a way to earn. Then when handy phones became more advanced and video cameras and editing apps became more accessible, most blogs were converted to vlogs (video blogs). This reminds me of Coy who could have been one of the pioneer vloggers who may have been instrumental in its existence if only he's still with us today. He's the one who introduced to me what a vlog is, as early as year 2007. That same year, he's already been encouraging fellow bloggers to try out vlogging. I've stated my thoughts about it more than 15 years back: Pinoy Vlogging In A Personal Blogger's Perspective.

Today I am pondering if I want to revive updating more often. Being aware that this is a public space and unlike 20 years ago, network of people can easily "stalk" you thru many means today, I am having double thoughts of preserving my private life. Since this used to be known only to my closest friends (online and real world), it is a different story today. Like those FB friends you just add as friends but are not actually close to you, most people now can easily access your writings online. Because it is what people has become--- well-versed online. So let's see what is in store next for this blog of mine.

Among the many posts I make here, the year-enders have always been my favorite as it summarizes a year of my life in one long post. And come to think of it, this blog reached two decades already but I only managed to write one "decade-ender" post. It was actually a feat doing it and now I want to give myself a pat on the back for doing it.

My first-ever year-ender blog post, written and posted from Canada.

I miss blogging. I miss my blogger friends--- who were usually my loyal readers, and whose respective blogs I also read in return. Today, some of them I get the chance to communicate with just through social media, either Facebook or Instagram. I miss the old times. If I could bring back a moment captured in my blog, it would be this day: sibling bonding.

You are 17!

Hello, blog! Today marks your 17th year of existence in the worldwide web. What was once a simple fad has become a hobby, and later on became one of my most valued life anecdote. Numerous times I attempted to revive the frequency of my updates, specially now that I have more stories to tell, and memories to remember in the future. Perhaps this year may be a good start to keep that fire going... to write again, and get back to updating my "online diary." While most people now are into vlogging, I prefer the more silent "web logging" (blogging).  In this social media era, people tend to lose attention fast as they are now more used to fast-paced browsing. It is different during the early years of blogging. People tend to "listen" (literally read) more to what you say and when
they needed to give you a feedback, the comments section becomes a precious read for the author. With blogging I gained real-life friends, and they are like family to me. And even if we don't see each other more often, we still connect pretty good online as if nothing has changed.  Welcome back to blogging, aajao!

15 Years of Having an Online Journal

My blog turns 15 today, March 3rd. For a blogger who still manages to keep his online diary up-to-date, it is really something. I, for one, has abandoned updating my daily life account, for the past years.  When I look back at my "younger" posts, I come to appreciate the frequent updates I used to posts way back my early blogging years.  So I somehow envy the bloggers who still take time to record their day-to-day activities, which in time, will turn out to be memories.  My blog has been a witness of my life since 03-03-03.  Through the years that I haven't updated much already, a lot of things already happened.  But the most memorable ones were documented, at least in my year-ender posts.

Today I take yet another role of a dad, spending my day with my family and having so much priceless time with our youngest family member.  It's a delight to just stare at your little one tirelessly walk around the house.  Soon, he'll be more firm in using his feet and go even farther.

Here's to more years of parenthood... and hopefully, blogging more often!

musings...

I've always wished to blog more often and whenever I get to post an update, like now, I am happy.  I feel I have accomplished a long-time backlog duty.  Blogging used to be a big part of my everyday life since it became a hot item online.  Today, blogging has gone a long way.  Most "surviving" bloggers are those who make it as a living.  Very seldom, from my bloggers friends list, that I still encounter updates that are diary-like, or an update of his/her personal day-to-day experience--- the primary reason of the web logs' existence when it began more than a decade ago.

God's grace has been very evident this year.  For many, many times, my financial status has been on an all-time low and very often I struggle on how to make both ends of the payday meet. We've had a lot of unexpected expenses recently and the "emergency" fund I've been wanting to put up hasn't materialized yet.  I'm always longing for the next payday!  I've been trying some sidelines to supplement my income but these seem to be picking-up too slowly, or do they even progress at all?  I'm not removing publishing a book on my bucket list.  Not only I am thinking that it will make me some money out of it but more importantly, I can leave a legacy to my family, and to my country as well.  But yeah, it's a long work before I can have it running.  I've always thought that having a business is far better than being an 8 to 5 employee.  I hope I will soon have the courage to do just that.

DJ & Daddy Jon :)
My son serves as my breather everyday.  Never does he frown on me.  Whenever I come home from work, and when he sees me, I'm thinking if I look like a clown.  Or maybe my son is just too jolly.  His smiles instantly take away my exhaustion from a day's work and hours of messy traffic.  His teeth are beginning to come out so recently he had a slight fever.  But this little boy is a fighter.  His appetite will not make you think that he is sick at all.  Reason perhaps why he recovered from his fever pretty fast.  Time flies... soon, we will all witness him walking already!  I'm looking forward to him growing up like a boy, and eventually a man, we dream of him to become someday.  I know what I've whispered to God in prayer before He gave us our little boy, and yes, His will be done!

On another note, my one & only favorite daughter now wears eyeglasses.  Her lens grades are 150-75, validating our suspect that she already needs to wear eyeglasses.  She often complained of having a headache and so, thanks to Aba, her eyes were already checked.  I hope there is still a possibility that her vision becomes better someday.  Too young for this thing. :(

Twelve.

a decade and two years of blogging: 03.03.03 stories...
Today marks the 12th anniversary of my personal blog, 03.03.03 stories... so much have been written, and over a decade of stories have been told.  My blog remains as it was--- simple, personal blog.  It neither converted into a marketing avenue, nor it became totally neglected.  I still feel writing about the things that are happening in my life, but this time less frequently as compared to the blog's earlier years.

My blog witnessed my life 12 years ago.  It served as my springboard to my rants, it served as the record of my life's momentous events, it recorded my childish thoughts, serious life-reflections, my heartbreaks, my happiness, up to my fatherhood.  While my blog continues to count years, I just had to smile whenever I turn back the pages of this online journal.  Too many memories, while you ask "where has the time gone?"  From 2003 to date, I had 5 jobs including the present.  That excludes the 3 different works I've done overseas plus 1 volunteer work.  I had 3 home addresses.  And I had numerous air trips, including a 16-hour "alone" international flight.  I witnessed one major "break-up" and within this twelve years, I have become more aware of the income-expense economics.

I am amused with a one-liner thought that until now gives my face a good grin--- because it sums up the reality that each passing year brings to us.  When looking back at your journal gives you a moment to reflect, then smile... then wish that you could turn back those happy times, and take another course to avoid the lonely ones...

"It is amusing to note that everyday nothing changes, but when you look back, it's all different."

Thank you, blog, for being with me through the years.  Happy 12th birthday, 03.03.03 stories...

April Fools... not!

This is probably one of the rarest times that I haven't posted a prank on an April Fools Day.  Probably a good idea since before this day ends, I just heard (or read) some comments that they are anticipating a prank from me, be it here in my blog, or on my FB wall, or even personally in the office.  April Fools Day has never been as overrated as this year.  Many of my FB friends suddenly became pregnant.  Most SSB (single since birth) I know instantly became "in a relationship," while others kept a very short notice of their trip overseas for good.  Only a very few number of people fall for these pranks.  I guess the prank is on the prankster himself!

The past few years, I have been "fooling" some my friends either through this blog, or through any means.  Last year's April Fools joke was the best hit of all, well, I thought of changing my FB birthday profile to April 1 and guess what?  Over a hundred "friends" (including some relatives) fell for it.  I was just too embarrassed to admit I have fooled them but yeah, a lesson was learned that there are still more than a handful of your friends who truly know important information about you (and did NOT fall for the prank).  The whole April 2013 prank story here: April Fools Story 2013

look! a blog promo!
In relation to this day, I am giving away an overnight accommodation for two (with FREE breakfast) at The Bellevue Manila to the 3rd correct answer (through the comment section of this blog) to this question:  Other than April 1, what is another date when people are excused to perform prank on others?
A MUST to win:  After commenting, like & share The Bonenica Shop on your Facebook wall. :)

Hints: 1. search engines may help but ONLY the 3rd lucky commenter with the correct answer will win the hotel voucher ;)
2. I'm looking for a date far from April 1. ;)

Prize Conditions:
1. for meet-up / pick-up only (Ortigas area, but ok, this is negotiable depending on the winner's location)
2. I reserve the right to give the prize to the next eligible person for any reasons.
3. accommodation indicated in the prize can be availed until JUNE 2014 only, except weekends & holidays.
4. prize unclaimed one month before the voucher's expiration date shall be forfeited.

Congratulations, Graduates & Parents!

A lot of things have been happening lately and I just can't seem to find the "spark" to write about them.  I'm planning on something that will rekindle my passion in writing.  This blog turned 11 this month and looking at the diminishing number of contents looks awful... well, at least for me who is a self-proclaimed writer.  Yes, writing has been my passion since childhood years.  I write poems, stories, love letters... oh well.  I think I need to put my writing habit back on track and take it to the next level. ;)

Today marks the 20th anniversary of the internet in the Philippines.  20 years ago (1994), I'm not sure if I already began surfing into the worldwide web.  I think it was only after year 2000 that I had my first ever email address... edsamail, anyone?  Then having a dial-up connection at home, I started getting an email address in excite.com.  First online leisure I became a member of was (of course) in PinoyExchange.com (PEx), the largest online Filipino community then and up to date ;)  My original username there was created in 2001 and up to now, it is still active. A couple of years after, I formally entered the world of blogging. It's just amusing to note that PEx has offered "blogging" (PEx Plus Private) even before blogs sprung out like mushrooms in the worldwide web.  Also, PEx can take the credit of being the first to introduce "micro-blogging" in Manila through PEx's Wireless Journal... the one I'm considering as the original twitter.  It was the peak of my mobile spending by sending Wireless Journal updates by texting.  I am even more interested in updating my Wireless Journal (WJ) account than my current twitter account.  Looking back at my WJ posts, I only have good memories even if I posted a good number of rants... which mostly tells updates about food and work rants. hahaha!

Since 20 years ago, internet in Manila has gone a long way.  Don't you all wish that people today still value personal connection than just virtual engagement?

Speaking of social networking sites, my facebook timeline is loaded with graduation photos.  That's with a matching "toga" outfit.  Some include their parents in the photo, some with classmates and fellow graduates, while most are selfies.

I'd like to extend my congratulations to all the graduates, primary school, secondary school, and college as well.  But most of all, to the hardworking parents who gave everything for their kids' education.  That's a treasure that nobody can take away from your kids now. ;)

To all the primary school grads, congrats, it's a step up to more learnings.  To all secondary school grads, congratulations, you now take your first step to your chosen career path... good luck!  To the college graduates, congratulations and welcome to the world of the unemployed! hahaha, kidding! :D

Coy...see you very soon, kapatid.

It has been a day since I've learned of Coy's passing thru Joriben... but still in disbelief up to this moment.  Coy & I never had that many times together but our communication automatically connects with a few common links:  First, he's a brother in faith.  Second, we both became KADIWA presidents in our respective locales.  Third, we're both bloggers.  Our communication through text messages or through phone calls is much greater than our meet-ups.  I can only recall a couple of personal meet-up with him, one, when he invited me to be the guest speaker in one of their KADIWA monthly meetings in the locale of Molino (Bacoor, Cavite) in September 2008 (barely a month after I became a Buklod member), and two, during iBlog5 in May 2009.  Aside from those two, I don't think we personally met again on any occasion.  But yeah, communication remained.  It's flattering to discover that while he has touched many lives and being looked up to as a "kuya" to many, I have been his "kuya" in the very essence of the word.  I am one of those he consulted if he'll push through a career in Cebu and migrate there for good.  I supported that thought.  It was one decision that he didn't regret and blessed him with greater opportunities in terms of his career.  And there he continued on performing his duties as a very active youth leader.

Our third meet-up could have been great, as professionals in our own fields, but the next set of communication with him revealed something you would admire him for... his bravery.

...that was the last of our conversations.  Yeah, I feel bad for not being able to visit him while he was confined here in Manila.  But having known a brother like him, and being considered as one of his "kuya's" is already something I am thankful for.  Coy... see you very soon, kapatid.

Sa Wakas, Meron Na Akong Unang Putok! (the wickedmouth way)

"ah. sinong author?"

hindi na ako nagpatumpik-tumpik pa, i grabbed one copy and went to the cashier. without batting an eyelash, put out my 500-peso bill and paid for my precious copy of the book! sana matuwa yung dalawang blogger friends ko. i'm sure matutuwa rin naman ako sa libro. in fact, babaunin ko ito sa flight ko sa Iloilo bukas. great timing! di ako matutulog lang sa eroplano this time. gusto ko na sanang buksan kagabi pag-uwi ko kaya lang baka matapos kong basahin, wala na kong babaunin sa air trip ko. as the name of the book suggests kase, mukha syang pringles.. once you popped, you can't stop. baka pagbukas ko ng unang pahina, maya-maya huling pahina na pala yung binabasa ko. so ayun.

updatesss...

so much for the daily updates... i really can't commit to the daily blog update. getting the context of a famous verse, it says "the spirit is willing but the flesh is weak." it's my 2nd failed attempt to update daily, first one was in 2011 when i launched my own 365 days project. then this one (for this year, actually). well, a lot of things happened and most of them occupied my time. it's either i'm too tired to update after a day's work or i just wanted to allot my time to my two girls when i get home from work.

1. ate B was confined in the hospital for some days. all of us, her family, relatives & friends, were all waiting for an update from my brother in law's FB status saying "Just experienced calling 911." the status was just left as is for almost a day and people started worrying what happened to them. so it was my sister. she had abdominal pains after arriving to work and the pain was too much for her to take already. they called 911 and we all waited for the results. after a day, my sister already commented and updated us through an FB comment: "from inflammed apendix to raptured appendix when they opened it up. messy and toxic so i have to stay in the hospital for a few more days. they are trying to clean up my system so pampered ako ng atibiotics."

2. a few days after, it was my brother in law's turn to get hospitalized. his foot was hurting real bad during his performance in church and later on diagnosed with renal stones... no medicines to cure it but he was advised to abstain from salty food. i was inquiring if they have buko juice there and my sister told me that they only have cranberry. tutyal! but both of us agreed that medical attention there seems lesser efficient than the attention we receive here from our nurses and other medical practitioners. iba pa rin ang alagang Pinoy! even my sister agrees that the succession of medical attention requests really take so much time. parang ayoko tuloy maospital dun sa bansa nila.

3. nairaos namin nang maayos at matagumpay ang Ilustrata Residences at PRO-FRIENDS ka rin ba? media launch. success din ang naging presscon ng Open House TV show na idinaos sa 9501 sa may ELJ building ng ABS CBN. ito yata ang unang totoong presscon na ginawa namin at natuwa rin naman ang invited media friends sa nasabing event. at the day of the Open House presscon, I have guested in Mornings @ ANC. I was a bit nervous when i was interviewed because i wasn't briefed on what questions will the host throw on me. true enough, i was asked a question that we (Open House producer) never discussed even before. here's the segment exclusively shared here in my blog:

video courtesy of ANC

4. highlighting the week-long activity and kicking-off our company's crystal year celebration, we ended the week with a blast! the Run for eLearning was a big success as over two thousand registered for the run and more than a thousand actually ran in the event. It was participated in by our employees, business partners, other sponsors and outside runners. it was really exhausting but the result of the event was very rewarding. congrats to the fun run team! we still have a FREE lunch courtesy of the big bosses :D

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA 5. brought home 2 choco velvet cakes for my two girls. been missing them since the busy weeks. and even our (Sunday) family day was cut short to give way to our holy supper choir practices. i'm just thankful that wifey is very understanding. i know how she misses our time together (just like i do). even my little girl can not hide how she misses daddy. whenever i get home, she just wanted me to stay by her side. she wanted to watch TV with me, she wanted to play with me, wherever i go in the house she's behind me... awww... how touching is that? and when i tell her "punta na nga lang si daddy sa office," she would beg me not to leave. *sniff* i hope Saturday work disappears soon. let's just have a compressed five-day work-week. go, HR!

looking forward to great days. we may not have enough to spend on grand vacations but the happiness we share everyday is priceless. but yeah, a good vacation should be rewarding. any sponsors out there? ;)

next long vacation: one month form now. i hope NO ACTIVITIES will pop-up at work during that time.

where has the blogging spark gone?

i haven't been updating lately, perhaps the "spark" of blog posting has dwindled these past few weeks. what's eating my blogging appetite, work? lack of family time? the crave for simply lazying on the couch and catch some TV shows? exhausting work schedule? or simply no stories to tell. one thing i'm sure is, it's NOT the latter.

too many things have been happening lately and i haven't been catching up with my writing. shame on a former (legitimate professional) writer!

19th PR Congress
i saw big names from the Public Relations world, and one of the speakers i admired most delivering his talk was Tony Ahn who was quick but clear in delivering his part discussing about reputation management. He advised us to "be radically transparent, and engage with public where the public congregates," wherein at this time, they are mostly on social media.

The congress also tackled a good number of topics relating to the disruption that the PR community faces--- the dominance (today) of social media, and how it affects basically everyone.

Filipino-Canadian & Youtube sensation Mikey Bustos had a special appearance by the end of Day 1 and i just couldn't let go of the opportunity of having a souvenir photo with him. After all, his being (pinoy) nationalistic is very admirable.

[caption id="attachment_2757" align="alignnone" width="300"] starstruck with Mikey Bustos[/caption]

handling crisis management

almost very related to the congress i attended, we have been faced with a crisis over the week and we just have to manage it. still long way to go, this is a learning curve for us. and this has been keeping us busy over the past couple of weeks and up to now and maybe in a few more weeks, as reputation tainted with a bad publicity is really not that easy to rebuild right away. and for that, i'm on duty today & tomorrow in one of our projects. talk about losing your one & only weekend day, but yeah, it's part of the job! any way, i was informed to have an offset for the sunday work. that should compensate it. ;)

fast growing up
our little girl is fast growing-up. the only thing she needs now is to talk straight. but i love her baby talk. in a few more months, she won't already be saying these cute words that only her mom and dad can decode. the little girl will soon be the girl who will go independent. i just hope even if she grows up, she still yearns for those daddy hugs & kisses that we do everyday when i come home from work. :( sume-senti?

another thing growing up is wifey's online business. please, please, please... join the craze and enjoy shopping online! visit my wifey's online shop at Bonenica Shop. Such affordable prizes... check out the shop and see things you may need everyday, or simply want. see the difference? we have what you need, and we may also have what you want. visit now! Bonenica Shop!

life's decisions

in a couple of years, our little daughter will go to formal school. we have been offered a life-changing option to decide on and wifey & i both agreed on one decision. abangan!

busy-ness

today marks my 4th week on the new job and it sure keeps me busy. i have a lot of things to look forward to in this new career and i'm positive enough to do this for as long as i am able to. i haven't formally introduced my current company to the people who are curious where i transferred, and probably i'll just make a separate blog post for it. right now, i'm enjoying what i currently do and still looking forward to the many things in store for me in this new job. i think it's what matters more at this point.

last saturday, i met with Gillboard after work to claim my prize for his blog contest. i haven't claimed the most precious jacket for so long and last saturday was the perfect time to get it. and a bonus thing upon our meet was to get to know his significant other. i met them inside a burger joint (a classy burger joint) and we talked a bit, then i needed to go home. and Gillboard is right in saying that the lovely jacket fits my wifey. indeed! it looks good on her. too bad i really like it but it's ok knowing that wifey will be able to wear it. blame it on my big, fat body :P

i'm still adjusting with the 6-day workweek schedule. at this point, i just long for holidays and spend time with my two girls. looking on the bright side of this week though, i have scheduled a 3-day vacation leave. it was approved but i'll get no pay for it. good friend kerwin is getting married on Friday and we have to go up all the way to Baguio to witness his special day. i'm excited, wifey is too. it's our little Aya's first time to go up there and it's been more than four years since wifey and i visited the city of pines and a comeback visit should be perfect with our little girl.

happy 9th anniBLOGsary, 03.03.03 stories...

yep, today marks the 9th year anniversary of my blog. it's not a joke maintaining a blog for nine years. i admit i've been posting not as often as i used to do. things change, y'know! but i still love writing... amazingly. :P

i also thought of leaving blogging but decided to continue (until i don't know when) upon reading the posts in my blog archive. sayang ang memories at ang mga maaari pang alalahanin sa hinaharap na panahon. and i guess having my own domain (thanks to kuya Ederic) sealed my decision to continue writing my stories. :)

i'd like to thank all my readers who try to find time to visit here and read my thoughts, and special mention to Gillboard who never fails to visit and comment on my posts. Not that i require my readers to do the same but just knowing that some people relate to my blog is enough reason for me to be thankful. no man is an island, after all. we all need somebody to communicate with and share our thoughts on anything.

blogging has evolved and even if social networking has overtaken other forms of internet leisure, i still find a home in blogging.

bloggers are people who are silently intelligent. bloggers are part of a silent majority. bloggers are mostly observers. bloggers are vocal even when the volume is on mute.

bloggers make a community... where people of different opinions share at least a common thing.

lastly, i'd like to leave this very nice "motto" which i read in the early times of my blogging habit...

"we write to express, not to impress."

...i think it's what made my blog going. ;)

reason behind the ranting (a re-post)

a busy day in the office such as this and a person getting on your nerve simply makes the bad day worse. anyway, after counting 10,000 sheep and getting my deadlines done, i now can relate why there's such a rant in my preceding entry. here's the story:

Roger* (*not his real name), our maintenance boy (he looks like a high school student) was told by yours truly to deliver an important report to our principal in Ortigas within the day. As i await the time of his dispatch (since our accounting department was preparing checks for delivery to our principal also) i keep on reminding him about the report he's going to take with him there. he kept on responding "ok".

after lunch, i told one of our accounting colleague to dispatch Roger already as our principal still needs to upload the sub-distributors report which Roger was to deliver to them. in short, the accounting department prepared all the necessary accounting documents to be handed to Roger. right then, i had to attend to our van salesman in the stockroom. upon returning to the office, Roger was gone. my blood rose to the heavens when i saw the reports still bundled up on my table. Roger left them! GRRR!!! my colleagues attested that they reminded him to report to me prior to his leaving but nonetheless, he left without remembering that he still needed to check on other things to bring to our principal. knowing that we don't have any other messengers, i was really furious since the other person from our principal kept on following-up about the said reports. and i still have to finish my deadlines so i can not go there myself to deliver the reports! GRRR!!!

i called the person from the other office and instructed them to tell Roger to come back to our office and then return there for the important documents that he left. i know it was mean to do that to him but it's a way for him to learn. most of the time, he doesn't listen to the instructions. if he ever did, he doesn't do everything he's asked of.

~ ~ ~

to make up for this unfunny incident, i am now forced to post his boo-boos which can fall in the category of this PinoyExchange thread:

# 1 boo-boo: All of us in the office craved for some Go Nuts Donuts and since we're lucky enough to have an outlet nearby our office, we asked Roger to buy us two dozens. first, we were all contesting if we should have it delivered instead but decided in the end to just have Roger buy it for us since it is just located inside Eastwood City.

an hour passed and we were all joking that Roger might have gone lost. next thing we knew, one of the office phone rang:

guy on the phone: good afternoon, pwede po kay jun?
me: (silence for a few seconds... then covered the mouthpiece and couldn't help laughing) ay naku sir, pasensya na po. sa GO NUTS DONUT namin pinapabili ng donut yan..
guy: (laughed)
(laughing on the other line)

-------

# 2 boo-boo: three of my officemates asked Roger to buy them Jolly Hotdog, Regular Yum and Fries. Roger was standing beside them when they were choosing from the Jollibee Delivery Menu and pointed on the menu flyer the orders they were asking him to buy. many minutes passed after he left, he was bringing a chicken barbecue burger and a regular crispy fries from KFC. Then speaking to my two other officemates, he said: "Walang Jolly Hotdog eh." the two obviously burst into laughter (i know its mean but who wouldn't) and told Roger why he didn't find Jolly Hotdog in KFC.

-------

# 3 boo-boo: (this really knocked me out) Ate Chona, coming from a long trip from her residence in Cavite to the office has asked Roger to buy her a breakfast meal upon arrival in the office. this time she made sure what meal he would order and made sure that he goes to Jollibee. ok. a few minutes after, he's back. he went straight to the pantry and gave Ate Chona her change in her desk. Ate Chona then asked: "Ok na ba yung breakfast meal ko?" Roger replied, "nandun na sa pantry"
i was timely making my coffee in the pantry when Ate Chona began looking for her hot chocolate. guess where Roger put it? IN THE REFRIGERATOR! buwahahahahahahahahaha!!!

sorry. this is the end of my day's ranting. happy weekend everyone!

keeping me busy

i don't detail much the things that keep me busy just like i used to. perhaps it's a part of the change that happens whether we like it or not. as i've mentioned previously, your 'world' shall be different when you get married and have kid/s. the usual hobbies that you used to do will have to be put aside to give way to your new responsibilities. it amazes me though that i still blog. though i've entertained the thought of giving-up blogging a few times, i'm still here documenting my so-called "life." and perhaps one friend thought that i needed to hold on to blogging so he gifted me a year of website hosting where i can have exclusivity in my url address, hence, the birth of this wordpress page. i used to blog in the FREE blog-hosting site and having an exclusive url address is something, well, upgraded. i still am a neophyte in terms of html use so i tweak my blog designs only through the templates available in the hosting site. some think that i'm already an "institution" to this but no, i remain as the simple blogger that i am. i don't even give in to putting ads in my webpage even if i think it can help me (even a little) in covering up some of my monthly expenses.

anyway, i'm busy with my family, work, church duties and online, i frequent PEx where i moderate a couple of forums. the latter i mentioned is voluntary but it gives me something in return--- perhaps the additional credential, communication enhancement, matured judgement, and maybe, additional friends. PEx has become the largest Filipino Online Community since its debut in 1999 and i never expected that i'd be one of the moderators of this community. I think it should be more fun if my PEx friends are still active when I'm already taking this responsibility. There are still a few active old members but those who i'm really close with and develop real-life friendship are already living their own real-world lives.

i'm still positive about getting a new career this year. there are a good number of reasons why i feel this way towards the present job and i think it's high time for me to take a step forward and move on to better "responsibilities".

weekends have always been a time for family (and church day, too). two days seem insufficient to do the many activities i need to do with my very own family (so i can't imagine working on a Saturday again). i've been spending my time working most of the week and when i get home after work, i feel tired & sleepy. must be the age, haha! i really don't take vitamins ever since (if i'm given the choice)... which reminds me, mom has sent me a bottle of vitamins to consume. yaiks. anyway, i'm thinking of spending more time with my wifey & little girl to some places this year, if the funds allow :P looking forward to have their newly-acquired passports to have stamps, yay! i just don't know when. but i'm projecting it by the 3rd quarter of this year. i hope the airlines have big, big discounts on air fare by that time :D

holy supper is nearing. it's that season when temptation is more evident. as for my brethren in faith, let's all be vigilant.

btw, i'm surprisingly loving the weather in Manila--- it's cold. I love sunny weather but having this cold breeze is also like-able! I just hate it when it rains.

may isang blog

HMP.)

blogging from work

came in late at work today (10:10am), and i'm here blogging from work. this ain't gonna be a long straight post. i'm updating in a staggered basis... laters.

(11:38)
done with urgent purchase orders. i just hope there'll be a swift delivery to the concerned distributor.

i'm getting stranded for two consecutive nights already due to heavy rain and flash flood in our humble village. the other night, heavy rain caught me after attending a sunday school class at church. i sought cover in a Jollibee store and while waiting for the heavy rain to stop (which eventually lasted for over two hours), i grabbed a 1-pc burger steak meal and an order of Palabok Fiesta for wifey. after minutes of waiting when i finished my meal, i decided to stand just outside the door of the store as they were already cleaning up the dining place. store's already closing. when I chanced upon the rain slightly getting light, i decided to go already. wifey's already worried about the situation knowing how flood water rises in our area. a jollibee crew took me to the nearest waiting shed even if i insisted i'm ok (since i knew i'm gonna get soaked anyway at the tricycle terminal) anyway, the crew insisted harder so i was accompanied to the waiting shed with a BIG jollibee umbrella :P i was right... flood water is already gutter-deep at the tricycle terminal. i was just lucky even if i was on the last part of the line, a tricycle residing in our area looked for passengers near his place as it was his last trip. lucky enough, not so many people ahead of me on line lives in our area. so i skipped the long line, hopped-in the tricycle (with drenched feet) and rode my way home.

(12:50)
the following day, wifey and baby aya were staying in my in-laws place for the day. while riding the jeepney home, heavy rain poured. the rain was comparable to yesterday's. wifey & little aya together with my mother in law tried to go back home to our place but flood water in one area going to us was already flooded and preventing light vehicles to pass. so they took a u-turn and went back to their place. i called wifey and told them to just spend the night there while i was waiting in line (again) for my tricycle ride home. same scenario as the previous night, my feet were drenched in flood water and i shared the tricycle ride home with a neighbor. i was soaked with rain water when i reached home even if i bring an umbrella with me this time. i called wifey to inform her i already was home safe & sound. after taking a nice warm bath, i just grabbed my brother-in-law's set of DVD titles and chose what to watch until i fall asleep.

how i miss my L300 van. it's loss has made a big impact on me especially that it's raining almost everyday at the time when i'm off from work.

[caption id="attachment_1592" align="alignnone" width="150" caption="my dear L-300 van through the years until we called it quits :("][/caption]

tomorrow, i am reporting to work. the old office has been renovated and it's time to move some things. so that's why i'm working. well, i'm bringing my baby here tomorrow due to insistent public demand :D i still need to finish a lot of things here in the office and my office mates can take care of my baby while i get busy :P

(15:12)
let's all take a moment of silence for the burial of... Wowowee...

(15:38)
nabasa ko sa re-twit ni GMA reporter, Josh Villanueva: " @MMDAtweets This account is a test account of d agency. The official account will b @tweetMMDA which will become @MMDA eventually."
- comment ko: gumaganun pa ang MMDA! :D earlier, i twited this.

(17:55)
i foresee a long night......

(18:23)
ate chona is ordering us dinner, yay! :)

(19:39)
this is very disappointing. i've set my mind to come home late today since this afternoon upon seeing that we still have a LOT of pending PO's for approval. but processing a purchase order tomorrow--- on a SATURDAY is too much. >:(

i miss the former bosses.

(21:41)
still here in the office. WOW.

(22:02)
i think its not a good idea to blog from work on a cut-off day. i should have shared better stories on 'dead times' but yeah, there are no 'dead times' during cut-off days. but this blogging from work was brought about by our DSL service disconnection. so yeah, we don't have internet connection at home anymore... until i find a more affordable internet plan. i'm looking at SUN Broadband plan. we're practically cutting-off expenses, like, downgrading subscriptions to lessen our monthly bills. i already started that by downgrading my mobile plan from 1000 to 600. then we had our PLDT landline-DSL bundle cut, and subscribed to SUN's wireless landline. i can do without my Globe mobile also, so any takers of my Nokia 2680 is welcome. :) it's already 22:33 on my office PC clock. good thing it's not raining outside.

(22:44)
finally, jenners is done with her report. i'm shutting down my PC now. update is done, blog from work is over, and i call it a day!

*whew*
