> why do SOME PEOPLE choose to be insensitive of others? It's easy. Just say "YES" if you mean YES, and "NO", if you mean NO. So stop being childish.
> why do SOME BUILDING ADMIN choose to remain insensitive of the need of their tenants? This buildings LIFT (elevator) SERVICES are testing my patience. And they are succeeding in turning my bad day to worse! for heavens sake, DO SOMETHING! Haven't they heard of the odd-even program? Or, the lower-higher floor strategy? Geez... i hope they transfer their office to the 28th floor so they'd know how it feels to ride a lift from the ground floor to the topmost floor and having to stop at every floor while enduring the crowded AND very poorly-ventilated elevator car. sheesh...
> why does the parking fee in this bldg have to be freakin' expensive? 20 pesos for the first hour and 10 pesos for the succeeding hours or a fraction thereof... and their basement parking stinks!
> why does it always rain when you don't bring an umbrella, and it doesn't if you bring one?
> why do YOU have to be so far?

"Bayang Hindi Matatalikod, Nagkakaisa sa Pagsunod"
"That they may see, and know, and consider, and understand together, that the hand of the LORD hath done this, and the Holy One of Israel hath created it." - Isaiah 41:20, KJV
HAPPY 91st ANNIVERSARY TO ALL BRETHREN IN FAITH! TO GOD BE THE GLORY!
* * *

Shortcut Tale
Two men were walking home after a Halloween party and decided to take a shortcut through the cemetery just for laughs.
Right in the middle of the cemetery they were startled by a tap-tap-tapping noise coming from the misty shadows.
Trembling with fear, they found an old man with a hammer and chisel, chipping away at one of the headstones.
"Holy cow, Mister," one of them said after catching his breath, "You scared us half to death -- we thought you were a ghost! What are you doing working here so late at night?"
"Those fools!" the old man grumbled. "They misspelled my name!"

What?
A husband read an article to his wife about how many words women use a day... 30,000 to a man's 15,000.
The wife replied, "The reason has to be because we have to repeat everything to men."
The husband turned to his wife and said, "What?"

Church Bulletin Bloopers
Thank God for church ladies with typewriters. These sentences actually appeared in church bulletins or were announced in church services:
Bertha Belch, a missionary from Africa, will be speaking tonight at Calvary Methodist. Come hear Bertha Belch all the way from Africa.
The Fasting & Prayer Conference includes meals.
The sermon this morning: "Jesus Walks on the Water." The sermon tonight: "Searching for Jesus."
Our youth basketball team is back in action Wednesday at 8 PM in the recreation hall. Come out and watch us kill Christ the King.
Ladies, don't forget the rummage sale. It's a chance to get rid of those things not worth keeping around the house. Don't forget your husbands.
The peacemaking meeting scheduled for today has been canceled due to a conflict.
Remember in prayer the many who are sick of our community. Smile at someone who is hard to love. Say "Hell" to someone who doesn't care much about you.
Don't let worry kill you off - let the Church help.
Miss Charlene Mason sang "I will not pass this way again," giving obvious pleasure to the congregation.
For those of you who have children and don't know it, we have a nursery downstairs.
Next Thursday there will be tryouts for the choir. They need all the help they can get.
Barbara remains in the hospital and needs blood donors for more transfusions. She is also having trouble sleeping and requests tapes of Pastor Jack's sermons.
The Rector will preach his farewell message after which the choir will sing: "Break Forth Into Joy."
Irving Benson and Jessie Carter were married on October 24 in the church. So ends a friendship that began in their school days.
A bean supper will be held on Tuesday evening in the church hall. Music will follow.
At the evening service tonight, the sermon topic will be "What Is Hell?" Come early and listen to our choir practice.
Eight new choir robes are currently needed due to the addition of several new members and to the deterioration of some older ones.
Scouts are saving aluminum cans, bottles and other items to be recycled. Proceeds will be used to cripple children.
Please place your donation in the envelope a long with the deceased person you want remembered.
Attend and you will hear an excellent speaker and heave a healthy lunch.
The church will host an evening of fine dining, super entertainment and gracious hostility.
Potluck supper Sunday at 5:00 PM - prayer and medication to follow.
The ladies of the Church have cast off clothing of every kind. They may be seen in the basement on Friday afternoon.
This evening at 7 PM there will be a hymn singing in the park across from the Church. Bring a blanket and come prepared to sin.
Ladies Bible Study will be held Thursday morning at 10 AM. All ladies are invited to lunch in the Fellowship Hall after the B. S. is done.
The pastor would appreciate it if the ladies of the congregation would lend him their electric girdles for the pancake breakfast next Sunday.
Low Self Esteem Support Group will meet Thursday at 7 PM. Please use the back door.
The eighth-graders will be presenting Shakespeare's Hamlet in the Church basement Friday at 7 PM. The congregation is invited to attend this tragedy.

NEVER ARGUE WITH A CHILD (series)
______________________________________________________
A little girl was talking to her teacher about whales.
The teacher said it was physically impossible for a whale to swallow a human because even though it was a very large mammal its throat was very small.
The little girl stated that Jonah was swallowed by a whale.
Irritated, the teacher reiterated that a whale could not swallow a human; it was physically impossible.
The little girl said, "When I get to heaven I will ask Jonah".
The teacher asked, "What if Jonah went to hell?"
The little girl replied, "Then you ask him". ______________________________________________________
A Kindergarten teacher was observing her classroom of children while they drew.
She would occasionally walk around to see each child's work.
As she got to one little girl who was working diligently, she asked what the drawing was?
The girl replied, "I'm drawing God."
The teacher paused and said, "But no one knows what God looks like."
Without missing a beat, or looking up from her drawing, the girl replied,
"They will in a minute."
_____________________________________________________
A Sunday school teacher was discussing the Ten Commandments with her five and six year olds. After explaining the commandment to "honor" thy Father and thy Mother, she asked, "Is there a commandment that teaches us how to treat our brothers and sisters?"
Without missing a beat one little boy (the oldest of a family) answered,
"Thou shall not kill."
_____________________________________________________
One day a little girl was sitting and watching her mother do the dishes at the kitchen sink.
She suddenly noticed that her mother has several strands of white hair sticking out in contrast on her brunette head.
She looked at her mother and inquisitively asked, "Why are some of your hairs white, Mom?"
Her mother replied, "Well, every time that you do something wrong and make me cry or unhappy, one of my hairs turns white."
The little girl thought about this revelation for a while and then said,
"Momma, how come ALL of grandma's hairs are white?"
_____________________________________________________
The children had all been photographed, and the teacher was trying to persuade them each to buy a copy of the group picture.
"Just think how nice it will be to look at it when you are all grown up and say,
'There's Jennifer; she's a lawyer,' or 'That's Michael, He's a doctor.'"
A small voice at the back of the room rang out,
"And there's the teacher. She's dead."
_____________________________________________________
A teacher was giving a lesson on the circulation of the blood. Trying to make the matter clearer, she said, "Now, class, if I stood on my head, the blood, as you know, would run into it, and I would turn red in the face."
"Yes," the class said.
"Then why is it that while I am standing upright in the ordinary position the blood doesn't run into my feet?"
A little fellow shouted, "Cause your feet ain't empty."
______________________________________________________
The children were lined up in the cafeteria of a Catholic elementary school for lunch. At the head of the table was a large pile of apples.
The nun made a note, and posted on the apple tray: "Take only ONE. God is watching."
Moving further along the lunch line, at the other end of the table was a large pile of chocolate chip cookies. A child had written a note,
"Take all you want. God is watching the apples."

a quarter past four a.m.
i don't know why i am up so early on a friday. i looked at the clock and it read four o'clock and i thought it was like six a.m. already as i wasn't feeling sleepy at all.
last night, my mom and i dated in the mall and while she was looking for RTWs, i decided to use up all my remaining balance in my netphone card and dialed my sisters home phone number. i was able to talk to kuya butch and got ourselves updated with what's going on lately, here and there. he was telling me that my niece Ria has "grown" (with the quote & quote), and that her things in her own room are mostly kikay stuff. i was expecting this. even when she was still younger, i saw in her 'signs' of getting into that attitude. i just hope & pray she will still be God-fearing, considering the very different culture she's into now comparing to what we have here in the Philippines.
speaking of culture, i occasionally get culture-shocks from what i see out there. i know that time has changed and what was taboo before may be lightly considered AND accepted already today. as what i've said, maybe i'm just too 'backward' and old-fashioned when it comes to those things. and they give me nightmares. serious nightmares that once in a while become distraction on my everyday routine. mind keeps roaming around thinking, and it feels not so good thinking all the time, worrying, thinking, worrying, thinking. i know that trust is very important but i always adhere to what is written: "the spirit is strong but the flesh is weak." --- it's either you or the other. it never fails coz all of us are human.
geezz... i guess i'm only making sense to myself.

hyper monday
i did my best to have a very positive attitude at the start of the day (its the start of the week as well), as i expected a load of work from my leave of absence last weekend. and it paid off. as my boss had put it during our meeting this morning, he said, "this is going to be a critical week for us..." --- and just as it is also our most "hectic" week in church as we prepare for our church anniversary thanksgiving worship this coming weekend. sun and rain, rain and sun, as the weather keeps changing today, i kept my focus in doing my assigned tasks for the day and now i have a little time for blogging before i speed off to our choir practice.
anyhoo, i just wanted to blog about one of the best times of my life which happened last weekend when i officiated the childrens thanksgiving worship in the locale of Mayagay. i had two of my good friends with me to accompany me going there, one of which is my long lost best friend. then we were greeted by hospitable and cheerful brethren upon arrival at the historical locales compound. what touched me most was the kids having to walk more than a kilometer just to attend choir practices, devotional prayers and worship services. as the resident worker remarked, lucky them if a tricycle passed by and then they could hitch on it going to the chapel. we (my friends and i) were fully taken care of by the brethren, we got to explore the mountainous place around the churchs area, got to take some souvenir photos of natures beauty, and to top it all, the thanksgiving worship was blessed by the Father!
Sunday, i got to talk to Karen and ghad! i missed her more. there are things to say that were left unspoken, things to clarify but left unvoiced out, things to express but kept in anyway. It's just so different hearing her again, on a happy tone, worry-free voice. she seems so near and yet so far... how long could we hold on to this thing....? i am wishing, hoping, and praying that it will be forever, until we once again meet and never separate again.

blogging at home
after quite some time, i finally got the chance (and the mood) to update my blog here at home. i was itching to have a quick update this morning at the office but work load didn't allow me to. good thing though, cuz it spared me from procrastinating from work. i felt a little lazy today but since i was scheduled to go out of the office after lunch time, it somehow took me off the lazy attitude for the day. hmm... maybe, the first thing that came to my mind that made me really lazy to work was the parking fee that i have to pay at the end of the day. i have no choice but to drive our van going to work since i have to catch up with our scheduled choir practice by seven. imagine: 20 bucks for the first hour, and 10 bucks for every succeeding hour. that's a total of a hundred and ten moolah bill if i finish my shift parking on the paid parking floor of our building. that's more than my passenger fare if i opted to commute from home to work and vice versa. and add the fact that i loaded the van with five hundred bucks worth of diesel (gas).
but then again, nothing beats the convenience of having your OWN transportation.
* * *
i am looking forward to a very busy two-week schedule (which started yesterday) as we prepare for the churchs 91st anniversary. i was blessed to have been sent to teach a Sunday school thanksgiving service in a far away locale in Rizal, almost near Laguna. well, its how others tease me with the suguan i got for Saturdays PNK thanksgiving. Now, i'm thinking of how to get there. Anyone reading this knows how to get to Mayagay either by commuting, having a private transportation, by land travel, air or sea??? huh??? Please, please, please, voice it out here before the weekend. They don't even have a telephone line there.
* * *
I miss going out of town. Island Cove, Tagaytay, Baguio, or somewhere farther where i still haven't been to. At least before i (am hoping) go back to Mississauga, i should have already gone to either/all of the following places: Ilocos, Cebu, Hundred Islands, Bohol, Bacolod (homecoming), and Enchanted Kingdom. Yea, you read it right: ENCHANTED KINGDOM. The one that is located in Sta. Rosa, Laguna. I know, what a loser! For the meantime, let me reminisce my happy days in baguio with some friends. One of the friends we met there was the cute St. Bernard (was he?), Flames. Yes. Flames was wearing an orange t-shirt. hahaha!

Salamat Sa Diyos At Ngayo'y Biyernes!
